Motorcyclist Retro

Motorcyclist Retro magazine Fall 2008 cover picturing the 1973 Kawasaki 900 Super Four Z1 and the 1973 Honda CR250M ElsinoreMotorcyclist Retro is a timeless motorcyle magazine for those of us who had bikes in the Sixties and Seventies. It's also a great read for young riders today. If motorcycles are in your blood, you cannot help but look back with wonder at the two wheel evolution. Imagine the thrill of riders in 1969 when the four cylinder Honda CB750 hit the US market with it's top speed of 120 mph for only $1495.00. The Fall 2008 cover of Motorcyclist Retro shows the later 1973 Kawasaki 900 Z 1 Super 4 (0-60 pace 4.8 seconds). Either way, it was big news in my college days, and the magazine makes me want to look for my own favorite classic to restore: the original 1967 Honda 305 Scrambler-- a bike that I could not afford in 1967, 1968, or 1969.

I was flying home from California last year and said hello to a young man two seats over from me on the plane-- he put a motorcycle helmet in the overhead storage, so I knew that he was a rider. People who ride invariably speak to one another. Midway through the flight he handed me the only Motorcyclist Retro magazine I have ever seen. When the flight ended, I reached out to pass it back to him and say thanks. He told me to keep the magazine. No subscription card was in it, and I have not since been able to find a way to subscribe online or through the mail. Because of the address listed, I assume Motorcyclist Retro is published by Motorcyclist Magazine. When I find a card or subscription contact, the first thing I'll do is send in my check and look for the next issue.
