Harley Davidson of West Virginia

Established by Dennis Di Filippo in 1974, Harley Davidson of West Virginia is West Virginia's oldest Harley Davidson dealer.

Toby and Mark taking a rare break from helping customersMy first exposure to the dealership was when a friend suggested that we eat lunch at Fat Bob's Roadhouse, an enclosed restaurant that has been managed by the most affable Robin Brogan since 1996. Robin makes the best beef vegetable soup in the valley, great sandwiches, and killer half pound cheesburgers (with fries or chips). From there it's only a few steps to the showroom where you'll be greeted by sales manager Toby Painter (hdwvsales@citynet.net), VP David Di Filippo, Mark Rhodes, or any of the other competent and caring staff, all of whom are there because they like both people and motorcycles.

When you call the dealership (800.766.4647) you'll most likely be greeted by the friendly voice of Janet Turley. But whether it's Janet or one of the other great people at HDWV, they always go out of their way to see that your call gets to the right person for whatever you need.

If your bike needs service, you'll most likely be connected with John Messer (service manager since 1997) or John Wolfe. Count on them to get you in promptly, have the work done by one of HDWV's competent technicians, and get you back on the road. If you want to bypass the phone system, e-mail either John at hdwvservice@citynet.net.

In addition to Robin's great cooking and Dennis' excellent staff, what really makes this dealership is the customers who continually drop in to share stories and advice about motorcycles and life. On any given day you are likely to run into marathon man Dan O'Connor, who still sets the world afire with his energy and enthusiasm as he begins his seventh decade on this earth.
